Ingredients: Rosuvastatin 5 mg
Assign:
Treatment of primary hypercholesterolemia (type IIa including heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia) or mixed dyslipidemia (type IIb) in adults and children 6 years of age and older:
As an adjunct to diet when diet and other non-pharmacological treatments (e.g., exercise, weight reduction) have not been adequate.
Treatment of homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia in adults and children 6 years of age and older:
As an adjunct to diet and other lipid-lowering treatments (e.g., LDL apheresis) or if such treatments are not appropriate.
Prevention of cardiovascular events:
Enlapylac 5 is used for the prevention of primary cardiovascular events in patients at high risk, as an adjunct to the modification of other risk factors.
How to use - Dosage:
Route of administration: Oral, can be taken at any time of day, with or without food.
Adults: initial dose 5–10 mg/day, adjust dose every 4 weeks.
Prevention of cardiovascular events: 20 mg/day.
Children 6–17 years: 5–20 mg/day depending on age group and medical condition (heterozygous or homozygous).
Moderate renal impairment: initial 5 mg, contraindicated 40 mg.
Severe renal impairment or advanced liver disease: contraindicated.
Contraindications
Progressive liver disease, increased transaminase >3 times upper limit.
Severe renal impairment (ClCr < 30 ml/min).
Myopathy.
Concomitant use with ciclosporin.
Pregnant and lactating women.
The 40 mg dose is contraindicated in some special cases (hypothyroidism, history of myopathy, alcoholism, combination with fibrates...).
